After many months of pain and suffering, my father passed away suddenly Saturday night. Though we are still in great shock over this tragedy, my boyfriend and I have been speaking with friends and family about arranging a private memorial. This is where you, my metalhead brethren, come into play. My father lived for metal, introducing me to the genre at a very young age. It started with Black Sabbath, then Rammstein, Turmion Kätilöt, Ruoska... You get the drill. To quote my old man, "If it ain't metal, it's shit."
As part of the service, I will be compiling a CD full of metal tracks appropriate for the event, regardless of whether it blows out a few eardrums in the process. I've only collected a few tracks so far, but I need YOUR help in finishing the deed. If you would be so kind in contributing with a particular track by your favorite artists that you feel would reflect on life and heaven, I would be in your debt.
I am also in the process of creating a piece of artwork, be it a mural, a painting, charcoal, I don't know yet, but I want to replicate an image of life through metal to honor his spirit. Any other ideas would be very much appreciated. It's going to be a long and arduous journey, and my boyfriend and I appreciate all the help we can get.
That said, I apologize if I'm imposing on the community, but I thank all of you for your help. Take care, everyone.
